1) Friday kicks off with Antique Carousel rides at Fireman's Park from 10-1 for only $1 per ride. Great fun for the kiddos!
2) Hot Nights, Cool Tunes is Saturday night at 7pm featuring Matchmaker Band, a 10-piece lively band singing Motown, Soul, Funk, and more. Join us for food, drinks, car show and a fun relaxing time with your friends and family. Bring your chairs and dancin' shoes!
3) Shakespeare at Winedale has begun their 43rd summer season of bringing Shakespeare to life. Performances are Thurs-Sun now through Aug 11. Tickets can be reserved online.
4) Come stomp some grapes! Two of our local wineries have grape stomps this weekend through Aug 11. Pleasant Hill Winery and Windy Winery both have stomps on Sat 11-6 and Sun noon-5. For $25 you get to pick grapes, stomp them, and personalize a t-shirt with your purple feet! After stomping, enjoy wine tasting and relaxing.
5) Washington-on-the-Brazos is having three different programs this weekend. Two on Saturday with presentations at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm - "I'll Tell You a Tale" and "Dowsing or Divining Water" - both meet at Independence Hall. Over at Barrington Living History Farm they are building fences and welcome your help! Presentations at 11am and 2pm. Park fees apply. Arrive early.
And while you're there, be sure to go into the Star of the Republic Museum to play with the 300-year-old life-size toy replicas. This exhibit is only on display through Aug 31, so now is the time to check it out!
