Scarecrow Contest in Downtown Brenham

Simon Crow is a well prepared tourist at the
Brenham/Washington County Visitor Center

When you think of Fall, what comes to mind? Pumpkins, perhaps? The colors orange, yellow and brown? Probably leaves changing. And cooler weather, of course! But do you think of scarecrows? Well, we do! Every year we welcome Fall to Washington County with the Chappell Hill Scarecrow Festival (Oct 12 & 13) and we have a scarecrow decorating contest in Downtown Brenham! (Here are pictures of the fun scarecrows throughout Chappell Hill that will welcome you to the festival.)

As you stroll our streets you'll find scarecrows on nearly every corner. There are quite a variety of themes this year with 28 entries, and you get to the be the judge!
