5 on FRIDAY: Jan 10-12, 2014

Haley Cole live on Friday
We have had quite a variety of weather the last week, but the weekend looks like it will be lovely to get out and enjoy some activities. Here are some suggestions...

 1) Wind down the week with great live music at The Burton Cafe, Nathan's BBQ and The Kenney Store. Details

2) Learn about butchering and curing hogs as a way of life in the Republic during the 1800s. Barrington Living History Farm will be demonstrating & explaining this process Saturday and Sunday. Details

3) Go Geocaching! The weather should be nice this weekend, so all the more reason to go outside! There are 26 new caches placed around Washington County. Don't know what that is? Learn more - it's a nearly free hobby that incorporates the outdoors, exercise, technology and fun!

4) Visit a new shop in Brenham - there are three that have opened in the last month-ish, two of which are Downtown. Mean Cowgirl, Branded Boutique, and as of just a few days ago Bluebird Off the Square (on the corner of Market and Alamo in the KellerHouse Antiques building).

5) Texas Tech Brass Quintet will be performing live at Round Top Festival Institute on Sat at 3pm. Get tickets online - $20.

Make a plan for next weekend to stay a couple of days with us! The Uptown Swirl wine walk in Downtown Brenham is from 3-7pm next Saturday. After tasting 30 wines, you may want to take a nap! :-)  Get tickets and reserve a room online!

Have a great weekend... We'll see you soon! :-)
