GeoTour Expanded!

We just placed 10 new geocaches on our Birthplace of Texas GeoTour and they all went live today!

People are loving the GeoTour and we couldn't be happier - we'd hoped all of you would find it fun, interesting, and worth the trip! So far more than 300 people have come to Brenham/Washington County to geocache and we've awarded all but 85 geocoins to those who've completed the tour since Dec. 2013.

Don't know what geocaching is? Oh, let me tell you! Geocaching is a fun outdoor activity that incorporates technology with treasure hunting. Basically, you use a GPS device and/or smartphone app to find cleverly hidden containers, sign the log inside, put it back where you found it, and then log the find on Geocaching.com to be awarded a smiley.

There are some geocachers out there who've found more than 10,000 caches - worldwide!!

Our GeoTour now includes 36 caches placed throughout Washington County - some small, some large, some sneaky, and one that's very tiny. The caches are in key locations that you may not visit on your own. You earn points by caching, eating, sleeping and shopping around the county, and once you earn 25 or more points you can turn in your Passport to get a collectible geocoin!

Visit Geocaching.com or our website to learn more and get started today! It's a nearly free activity and fun for the whole family! And, it's a great incentive to get out and explore a new area! :-)

See you soon and Happy Caching!
